What is Finance and Accounts Shared Services (FA SS)?

When fully implemented, FA SS will be the centre for supporting administrative accounts and financial transactions in the GOJ. Finance and Accounts are core operational units for all public and private organisations. In the GOJ, these areas govern two critical fiscal components, financial oversight, and accounts management.

Through the FA SS, services have been expanded on the main GOJ financial platform, Government Integrated Financial Management Information System (GFMS). This is to enhance the delivery of innovative, efficient, and customer-centric financial and accounts services for the public sector.

How FA SS Works

The FA SS communicates and manages service requests from the MDAs through its Case Management System (CMS). The CMS facilitate the assignment of tickets and tasks to team members and the measurement of the processing of these requests against the SLAs.
Bank Reconciliation
On request of the entity, the FA Shared Service Centre (FA SSC) reconciles transactions for bank accounts, payment, deposits, and bank charges by posting them to the expenditure general ledger.
Supplier Account Reconciliation
MDAs can also request reconciliation of supplier statements. This is guided by open and paid invoices posted to the expenditure general ledger.
Central Payment Account Reconciliation
The FA SSC will also provide support to MDAs with the reconciliation of central payment accounts from the Accountant General’s Department (AGD) against that of their entity’s accounting records.
